County Workers to see Christmas Bonus

Posted

During the December County Commission, the commission voted unanimously to add a Christmas bonus for all County employees who are not elected officials and whose position is not grant funded. The qualifying full-time employees will see a $200 bonus and the part-time employees will see a $100 bonus.

The commission also voted to pair with the Celina town government to submit a letter of intent to conduct a special census and identify the costs with the census, with the caveat that the commission will still approve the cost before.

A resolution was passed to name a road in district five Wolf Ridge Road.

The commission also approved to request the General Assembly amend T.C.A 67-4-1414 to increase the Clay County Occupancy tax to a rate of four percent. They also approved a resolution to request the General Assembly amend T.C.A 67-7-203 so the commission can increase the local county mineral severance tax.

The commission approved the following notaries: Pamela A. Spivey, Jenny Poole and Cindy Ann Cherry.

The December County Planning meeting has been cancelled due to the holidays and the January County Commission meeting will be moved to January 8, 2024 for the New Year holiday.
