The Egg Throwing Has To End

Posted

Each year in Celina the young folk, and maybe the young at heart gather on Halloween night to pelt passersby with eggs, and according to a citizen at the town board meeting the town is tired of it. She approached the board and shared her story from this Halloween night. It needs to end was a sentiment shared by the council, who assured the people they would discuss and work on a plan to ensure there is an end to the Halloween hijinks.

Also during the town board meeting the board awarded with gas/diesel bid to the only gas station in the town limits, one alderman stated he believed it was in the town charter, after a quick read of the town charter there is not a section regarding granting bids to businesses in town over others, it is merely the preference of the sitting board.

The board approved the Christmas/Thanksgiving bonuses to the town employees, which will be the same as last year.

The board voted against moving the water and sewer lines for the Dollar General Market, stating they feel it was on the business to complete.

The board then voted to table the motion for the Welcome sign and Veterans Memorial until Mayor Luke Collins can be present.

The next meeting of the Town Board will be December 12, 2023.
